The end of summer holidays 2018

The older I get the quicker the year seems to go by. I really don't believe that we've had six weeks of summer holiday's already, surely it's only been 2 weeks and we've got ages left.

This is always a weird time of year for me, it's filled with all of our Martha anniversaries; leaving the older two to go to London for Martha's birth and surgery, the surgery itself and all the tough days that followed before being allowed home 18 days later.

It's the first day of a new school year for the girls today, Osh will go back to school tomorrow. September for me is always like a New Year. It's been 10 years since I finished Uni but I still can't get out of seeing the new term as a new start. I love routine and can get all out of sorts over the holidays if we have too many lazy mornings. Towards the end of the last term, I would wait until almost 7:45 before getting up and feel like I was always rushing out the door. This year I have all the best intentions of being up and out of bed for 7am and being able to take my time getting everyone ready to leave the house. As this blog goes live I just hope that I've actually stuck to my plan and made the most of my morning. I also hope that while the kids are at school I'll take the time to blog more frequently and save my sanity.

We've only got a couple of week's of school run's to deal with before we head for our first family holiday abroad. I've never been one who has needed holidays before, time away with the family yes - but not an actual holiday. I think because we know that we have this one coming up we are quite literally count down the days until we jet off. I can't wait for some sun, a good book, living in a bikini for a week and eating and drinking all day without having to actually cook or wash up.

But before that - Mammi needs to start thinking about packing!!!
